The sailboat regatta was first held in 1954 and there were only 24 vessels, today the Sailboat Race includes hundreds of sailing yachts in different categories racing over a period of 3 days on Biscayne Bay. While the sailing event is taking place just a few miles west on the shallow banks and white sand bars in front of Elliott Key, the largest gathering of vessels is taking place. The mate was so nice and informative and was not turned off my my thousands of questions or my screaming with glee when I got a bite on the line! Thank you for the great day!!
