Columbus Day Regatta - Miami

The Columbus Day Regatta on Biscayne Bay is an annual sailboat race and a sand bar party that attracts thousands of spectators and participants from all over the world to South Florida. The sailboat regatta was first held in 1954 and there were only 24 vessels, today the Sailboat Race includes hundreds of sailing yachts in different categories racing over a period of 3 days on Biscayne Bay. While the sailing event is taking place just a few miles west on the shallow banks and white sand bars in front of Elliott Key, the largest gathering of vessels is taking place. In these clear blue waters boats and yachts of all shapes and sizes will raft up and participate in the largest raft up party in South Florida and it only happens once a year. A hedonistic celebration perhaps most accurately describes the none stop music, dancing, drinking in excess, and clothing optional atmosphere that continues on for miles and for days (and at nights too). Water guns, inflatable toys of every category imaginable, flags that have never been seen before, and a general over all attitude of “anything goes” contribute to the sense that "we are not in Kansas anymore".

I recommend that you speak with a boating professional to reserve your boat with a captain. This is definaly a site to be seen just everyone play safe!

Hotels vs Vacation Rental Villas for Celebrities

Celebrities are demanding clients who require luxury, space, comfort, service and privacy. Privacy is probably one of the most important factors in celebrities’ decisions traveling away for home. Instead of a hotel more and more celebs are renting luxury vacation villas for their holidays. Celebrities are desperately in need of silence and serenity during their stay and vacation rentals can offer this luxury. Being a celebrity comes with privileges but is has also its inconveniences. Getting chased by fans is not something that celebrities are fond of, especially during their vacation. Celebrities might also need to rent vacation rental villas while they conduct business shooting a movie or recording an album. By renting a luxury home the celeb can bring their entourage so they can feel the comforts of home. Why not bring your own chef, make up artist, personal trainer and assistant. In either case, they are sure to feel more comfortable in a luxury holiday rentals mansion rather than a hotel. During their stay, owners or a concierge service provides them will services to accommodate their needs

Miami as a Wedding Destination

Miami is soon becoming one of the United States primer wedding destinations. Why go to Jamaica, Mexico or even Las Vegas when Miami has it all! More Americans are choosing to have a destination wedding then the traditional stay at home ceremony. The newest, biggest trend is to have a four hour ceremony and reception on a party yacht that can accommodate four to 500 guests! These floating one stop wedding factories have everything, the caterer, florist, photographer, even concierge services to book your hotel rooms, flights and transportation!! This is something you and the guests will remember. With the stunning vistas along Miami’s waterfront as a backdrop, it seems like the entire city is witnessing the moment of matrimony. A colorful South Florida sunset may be tinting the downtown skyline in the background. Or maybe the romantic couple prefers to marry in the glow of a full moon on a clear night with the city lights twinkling in the distance. For participants and spectators alike, weddings aboard a party yacht are always dramatic and unforgettable!

Fishing in Miami

I decided to go fishing this weekend; why not try something new? I have fished in rivers and streams up north but never here in South Florida. It was a good excuse to go out on a boat and work on my tan. We boarded the boat at 8am with my coffee in hand and cooler of snacks. The live well was stocked so all we had to do was start the engines!! We threw the line in shortly after leaving the dock and began trolling. The captain took us to a place where there was a sunken ship made into a reef in an attempt to catch something, well something we did!! Dolphin, Mahi Mahi and even a Shark!!! The mate was so nice and informative and was not turned off my my thousands of questions or my screaming with glee when I got a bite on the line! Thank you for the great day!! I would defiantly do it again!

Miami offers some of the best fishing in the world! Try to catch Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Snapper, Bone Fish, Tuna, Grouper, Shark and much more. Miami offers inshore and offshore fishing opportunities. This is something everyone should try out at least once! MiamiBoat.com has all the information you will need to reserve you fishing boat today!
